Duties

To assist the Superintending Archaeologist in the discharge of his official functions which include the following

  • Documentation of antiquities.
  • Village to Village Survey of Antiquarian Remains.
  • Drawing of inspection notes.
  • To exercise delegated financial and administrative powers.
  • To ensure steps against encroachment, vandalism, and mutilation of monuments.
  • Conducting exploration and excavation.
  • To check and measure various types of conservation work.

Other Details

Probation:

The Persons selected will be appointed on probation as per the rule.

Post Type:

The Post is permanent. It will be General Central Service Group – “A” Gazetted Non-Ministerial.

Head Quarters:

The Post will be in New Delhi with the liability to serve anywhere in India.

Other Conditions:

  • National Pension System (NPS) with effect from January 1, 2004.
  • This recruitment will be subject to the outcome of OA No. 1114/2024 in the matter of Alka Singh & Ors Vs UOI pending before the Hon’ble CAT, Principal Bench, New Delhi.
