The Indian Army has opened applications for the 141st Techincal Graduate Course Commencing in July 2025. Unmarried Male Engineering graduates can apply to secure a permanent Commission in the Prestigious Indian Army. Candidates who meet the Eligibility criteria can apply for this form from 18th September 2024 to 17th October 2024.

What is Indian Army TGC-141 Recruitment?

The Indian Army every year recruits engineering graduates and final-year students to join as officers through its Techincal Graduate Course. The next Techincal Graduate Course (TGC-141) will start in July 2025. Selected Candidates will undergo training at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. This course allows engineering Graduates to join the Indian Army as officers with a Permanent Commission.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Indian Army TGC-141, Applicant must meet the following criteria.

Nationality:

A Candidate must be either

  • A Citizen of India
  • A subject of Nepal
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African Countries or Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India.

Age Limit:

The Candidate should be between 20 to 27 years old as of 01/07/2025. The Candidate must be born between 02/07/1998 to 01/07/2005, Both dates included.

Educational:

Candidates must either have completed their engineering degree or be in the final year of their engineering studies.

Candidates studying in the final year of the engineering degree course should be able to submit proof of passing the Engineering Degree Examination along with mark sheets of all semesters/ years by 01/07/2025 and produce an Engineering degree Certificate within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at The Indian Military Academy (IMA).

Such Candidates will be inducted on an Additional Bond Basis for recovery of the cost of training at the Indian Military Academy(IMA) as notified from time to time as well as stipend and pay & allowances paid, in case they fail to produce the requisite degree certificate.

Vacancies:

Candidates must note that only the Engineering streams and their acceptable equivalent streams, strictly as notified in the table below:

Type of Commission

  • Selected Candidates will be granted Short Service Commission on probation in the rank of Lieutenant from the date of commencement of the course or the date of reporting at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, whichever is later, and will be entitled to full pay and allowances admissible to Lieutenant during the training period. Pay & Allowances will be paid after successful completion of training.
  • Permanent Commission: On successful completion of training cadets will be granted Permanent Commission in the Army in the rank of Lieutenant.
  • Ante Date Seniority: One-year ante date seniority from the date of commission will be granted to Engineering Graduates of TGC Entry in the rank of Lieutenant.

Training:

  • Selected candidates will undergo training at The Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun according to their position in the final order of merit up to the number of available vacancies and subject to meeting all eligibility criteria.
  • The total duration of training will be 12 Months.
  • Candidates may please note that will neither be allowed to marry during the period of training nor be allowed to live with parents/Guardians. Candidates must not marry until they complete the full training at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. A candidate, if he marries while under training, shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the government. A candidate, who marries after the date of his application, though successful at the Service Selection Board interview and medical examination, will not be inducted for training, and his candidature will be cancelled.
  • Cost of Training: The entire cost of training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun is at the Government’s expense. In case the Gentleman Cadet is withdrawn from Training Academy due to reasons other than medical grounds or reasons not beyond his control, he will be liable to refund the cost of training @ ₹ 16260/- per week as per Mod letter No 16(1)/2017-D(GS.II) dt 15 Mar 22, the annual increment is 8% and as notified from time to time (for the period of candidate’s stay at the IMA, Dehradun). The cost of training borne by the State will be recovered from candidates withdrawing for personal reasons.

Selection Procedure

The selection process involves multiple stages:

  • Shortlisting of Applications: Based on academic performance, candidates are shortlisted for the next stage.
  • SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates undergo a two-stage selection process, including psychological tests, group tasks, and personal interviews.
  • Medical Examination: Candidates who clear the interview will undergo a medical test.
  • Final Merit List: Based on SSB scores and medical fitness, a final merit list will be prepared for selection.

  • Candidates need to apply through the official website of the Indian Army (www.joinindianarmy.nic.in).
  • Click on ” Officer Entry Apply/ Login”
  • Then Click on Registration.
  • Fill out the online registration form.
  • After getting registered, Click on “Apply Online” under Dashboard.
  • A page of Officers Selection ‘Eligibility’ will open.
  • Click ‘Apply’ shown against the Technical Graduate Course.
  • A page of ‘Application Form’ will open.
  • Read the instructions carefully and click ‘Continue’ to fill in details as required under various segments – Personal information, Communication details, Education details, and details of previous SSB. ‘Save & Continue’ each time before you go to the next segment.
  • After filling details on the last segment, you will move to a page.
  • ‘Summary of your information’ wherein you can check and edit the entries already made.
  • Only after ascertaining the correctness of your details, click on ‘Submit’.
  • Candidates must click on ‘Submit’ each time they open the application to edit any details.
  • The candidates are required to take out two copies of their application having Roll Number, 30 minutes after the final closure of the online application on the last Day
