Duties
To assist the Superintending Archaeologist in the discharge of his official functions which include the following
- Documentation of antiquities.
- Village to Village Survey of Antiquarian Remains.
- Drawing of inspection notes.
- To exercise delegated financial and administrative powers.
- To ensure steps against encroachment, vandalism, and mutilation of monuments.
- Conducting exploration and excavation.
- To check and measure various types of conservation work.

Probation:
The Persons selected will be appointed on probation as per the rule.
Post Type:
The Post is permanent. It will be General Central Service Group – “A” Gazetted Non-Ministerial.
Head Quarters:
The Post will be in New Delhi with the liability to serve anywhere in India.
Other Conditions:
- National Pension System (NPS) with effect from January 1, 2004.
