The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has released the advertisement for Himachal Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment 2024 for both male and female candidates. In total, there are 1088 Vacancies 708 for male candidates and 380 for female candidates. Interested Candidates can apply for these vacancies from 04 October 2024 to 31st October 2024.

Selection Process

The Selection Process for this post will include:

  • Physical Test
  • Written Exam
  • Document Verification
  • Medical Examination

The final merit list shall be made based on the marks of written examination, PST- Height marks, and evaluation- NCC Certificate marks, based on the following parameters:

The Physical Test will have two parts:

  • Physical Standard Test
  • Physical Efficiency Test

Written Test

  • Upon receipt of the list of physically qualified candidates, the Commission will issue the E-admit card for the written examination, which shall be conducted offline. The syllabus for the Written Examination will be of +2 standards and will be published on the official website of the Commission shortly after issuing the advertisement. The written examination will be conducted at the district/subdivision level, depending on the availability of examination centers. The written examination will be of TWO-hour duration having 90 marks consisting of 90 objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) with negative marking for incorrect/wrong answers.
  • Each question will be followed by four (A, B, C, D) answer options and one option ‘E’ in case the candidate does not want to answer the question. The candidate will have to blacken with a blue/black ball pen on the circle adjacent to the option he thinks is correct in the OMR answer sheet. No answer will be left blank. In case the candidate does not want to answer a question to avoid negative marking he shall have to blacken the option ‘E’. If any answer is left blank and none of the options is blackened then it will also result in a negative marking
  • For Every Wrong Answer, a 1/4th mark assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty in the Exam.

How to Apply

  • Desirous/eligible candidates must apply online through the official website of the Commission i.e. http://www.hppsc.hp.gov.in/
  • click on the link “Apply Online” on the Home Page.
  • On the opened page the candidate will click on the link “One Time Registration (OTR) for Examinations” and on the opened page will register and create his profile by clicking on “New Registration” if not registered already.
  • The candidate will apply for a particular post through this portal only. After filling in all his details, the candidate will choose only ONE DISTRICT of his choice for the Physical Standard Test and Written Test from the dropdown menu.
  • The application of the candidate will be submitted only after uploading of requisite documents as per the advertisement.
