Introduction

The Indian Army has opened applications for the 53rd Techincal Entry Scheme Course Commencing in July 2025. Unmarried Male Candidates who have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM subjects) and appeared in the JEE Mains 2024 Exam can apply to secure a permanent Commission in the Prestigious Indian Army. Candidates who meet the Eligibility criteria can apply for this form from 7th October 2024 to 5th November 2024.

What is Indian Army TES-53 Recruitment?

The Indian Army annually recruits unmarried males who have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM subjects) and appeared in the JEE Mains 2024 Exam to join as officers through its Technical Entry Scheme Course. The next Technical Entry Scheme Course (TES-53) will start in July 2025. Selected candidates will undergo training at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. This course gives 12th-pass candidates a chance to join the Indian Army as officers with a Permanent Commission.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Indian Army TES-53 Course, Applicant must meet the following criteria.

Nationality:

A Candidate must be either

  • A Citizen of India
  • A subject of Nepal
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African Countries or Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India.

Age Limit:

The Candidate should not be below 16½ years and above 19½ years as on the first day of the month in which the course is due to commence. The Candidate must be born between 02/01/2006 to 01/01/2009, Both dates included.

Educational:

  • Only those candidates who have passed the 10+2 Examination or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from recognized education boards are eligible to apply for this entry. The eligibility condition for calculating the PCM percentage of various state /central boards will be based on marks obtained in Class XII only.
  • Candidate must have appeared in JEE (Mains) 2024.

Vacancies:

As per the notification currently, there are only 90 vacancies. But these can change depending upon the training capacity at the Cadets Training Wings for this Course.

Training

Selected Candidates will undergo training for 4 Years. Details of Training are as follows:

Cost of Training:

The cost of training is ₹13,940/- (as of 2021) and as notified from time to time per week (for the period of the candidate’s stay at Cadet Training Wings/Indian Military Academy Dehradun.) The cost of training is borne by the State; and will be recovered from candidates withdrawing for personal reasons.

Type of Commission

On successful completion of 4 years of the course, cadets will be granted Permanent Commission in the Army in the rank of Lieutenant.

Selection Procedure

The selection process involves multiple stages:

  • Shortlisting of Applications: Based on academic performance, candidates are shortlisted for the next stage.
  • SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates undergo a two-stage selection process, including psychological tests, group tasks, and personal interviews. Candidates will be put through two two-stage selection procedures. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same day.
  • Medical Examination: Candidates who clear the interview will undergo a medical test.
  • Final Merit List: Based on SSB scores and medical fitness, a final merit list will be prepared for selection.
  • Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be issued joining letters for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available. Candidates who have been recommended by the SSBs will be required to fill three choices (i.e. CTW, CME Pune, CTW, MCTE Mhow & CTW, MCEME Secunderabad) for respective Cadets Training Wings. All choices will be required to be mandatorily filled. There should be no common choices. Choice cannot be changed once made by the candidate. Filling of choice will not determine the allocation of Cadets Training Wings. The final allocation of Cadets Training Wings will be decided by the Indian Army and will be indicated in the joining instructions issued. No representation or change of Cadets Training Wings will be permitted

How To Apply for Indian Army TES-53 Recruitment 2025:

Application Form

  • Candidates need to apply through the official website of the Indian Army (www.joinindianarmy.nic.in).
  • Click on ” Officer Entry Apply/ Login”
  • Then Click on Registration.
  • Fill out the online registration form.
  • After getting registered, Click on “Apply Online” under Dashboard.
  • A page of Officers Selection ‘Eligibility’ will open.
  • Click ‘Apply’ shown against the Technical Entry Course.
  • A page of ‘Application Form’ will open.
  • Read the instructions carefully and click ‘Continue’ to fill in details as required under various segments – Personal information, Communication details, Education details, and details of previous SSB. ‘Save & Continue’ each time before you go to the next segment.
  • While filling up the application form, candidates are required to indicate the exact PCM percentage of Class 12th up to two decimals and are not to be rounded off. Any false entry of PCM percentage, detected at any stage of the selection process will be outright rejected.
  • ALL CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO FILL IN THEIR APPLICATION NUMBER FOR JEE MAINS 2024 FOR B.E/B TECH COURSES ONLY.
  • After filling details on the last segment, you will move to a page.
  • ‘Summary of your information’ wherein you can check and edit the entries already made.
  • Only after ascertaining the correctness of your details, click on ‘Submit’.
  • Candidates must click on ‘Submit’ each time they open the application to edit any details.
  • The candidates are required to take out two copies of their application having Roll Number, 30 minutes after the final closure of the online application on the last Day.

SSB Interview

  • Shortlisted candidates will be detailed to undergo SSB interview tentatively to be scheduled from Feb/Mar 2025 onwards.
  • For the SSB interview, print out of online application must be accompanied by original documents along with two sets of self-attested photocopies i.e. 10th class certificate issued by the Board concerned (CBSE/ State Boards/lCSE) in which the date of birth is reflected for proof of date of birth (Admit card/Mark sheet/Transfer/Leaving Certificate, etc. are not acceptable as proof of date of birth) and 10+2 certificate and mark sheet for proof of education and a copy of the result of JEE (Mains) 2024. Revised mark sheets issued by a Board/University after the last date of submitting an online application will not be accepted for this
    course.
