What is RRC Apprentice Recruitment?
The Railway Recruitment Cell, Mumbai part of Western Railways has released a notification to hire apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961. There are a total of 5066 vacancies available across the various Divisions, Workshops, and Units of the Western Railway. The Selected candidates will undergo 1 year of Training under the Apprentices Act, offering them hands-on experience and skills development in their respective trades.
Age Limit and Relaxations:
Age Limit:
- Minimum Age: 15 Years
- Maximum Age: 24 Years (as of 22nd October 2024)
Age Relaxations:
- For SC/ST Candidates: 5 Years (Upper Age Limit)
- For OBC Candidates: 3 Years (Upper Age Limit)
- For Person With Disabilities (PwD): 10 Years
Educational Qualification
To be eligible Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- The Candidate must have passed Matriculation or 10th in the 10+2 examination system with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board.
- The candidate must have passed the ITI Certificate affiliated to NCVT/SCVT is compulsory in relevant trade as under:
Application Fee
- Application Fee is ₹100 (Non-Refundable)
- No fee is required to be paid by the SC/ST/PwD/ Women Applications.
Mode of Selection
The Selection of Eligible Candidates will be done based on the Merit List which will be prepared by taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in both Matriculation and ITI examinations giving equal weightage to both. There will be no written examination or interview in the selection process.
Training Period and Stipend
Training Period:
The selected candidates are required to undergo apprentice training for 1 year.
Stipend
Those selected candidates will be engaged as apprentices and will undergo apprenticeship training for one year. They will be paid a stipend during the training at the prescribed rate per extant rules governed by the concerned state governments.
