What is SSC GD Constable?

Every Year, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) organizes the SSC GD recruitment for the
posts of Constable (General Duty) in the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and Secretariat Security Force (SSF), Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles (AR), and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

Like every year, The SSC has released an official notice with important details about the job, who can apply, and when to submit the application for the post of Constable General Duty for the year 2024-2025. Some important details are as follows:

The details of the vacancies are as follows:

Salary Details

The salary details for the posts are as follows:

• Pay Level -1 (₹18,000 to ₹56,900) for the post of Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
• Pay Level -3 (₹21,700 to ₹69,100) for all other posts.

Age Limit

The crucial date for the age cut-off is fixed as 01/01/2025. The Age limit and other relaxations are as follows:

• The age of the candidate must be 18-23 Years as of 01/01/2025 (i.e. Candidates born before 02/01/2002 and later than 01/01/2007 are not eligible)
• The Age relaxation for SC / ST Category Candidates is 5 Years.
• The Age relaxation for OBC Category Candidates is 3 Years.
• The Age relaxation for Ex-Servicement Category Candidates is 3 Years after the deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as of the date of cutoff.
• The Age relaxation for Children and dependents of victims killed in the 1984 riots or communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat (Unreservd / EWS) is 5 Years.
• The Age relaxation for Children and dependents of victims killed in the 1984 riots or communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat (OBC Category) is 8 Years.
• The Age relaxation for Children and dependents of victims killed in the 1984 riots or communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat (SC/ ST Category) is 10 Years.

Educational Qualification

• The Candidate must have passed the Matriculation or 10th Class Examination from a recognized Board / University as on or before the cut-off date i.e. 01/01/2025.
• Candidates who have not acquired the essential educational qualification as of the stipulated date (i.e. 01/01/2025) will not be eligible and need not apply.

Incentive for NCC Certificate Holders

Application Fee

• Fee payable: ₹100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only).
• Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.
• The fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, Master Card, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards.
• The candidates can pay the fee up to 15-10-2024 (23:00 Hours) online only. There will be no option to pay fees through any other mode.

Selection Process

The selection process for SSC GD Constable 2025 Recruitment is as follows:

• Computer Based Test (CBT)
• Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
• Physical Standard Test (PST)
• Medical Examination
• Document Verification

Computer Based Test

The Computer-Based Examination will consist of one Objective Type Paper containing 80 Questions carrying 2 marks each with the following Composition:

• All Questions will be Objective multiple-choice type. The Computer-Based Examination will conducted in English, Hindi, and 13 Regional languages viz. (i) Assamese, (ii) Bengali, (iii) Gujarati, (iv) Kannada, (v) Konkani, (vi) Malayalam, (vii) Manipuri, (viii) Marathi, (ix) Odia, (x) Punjabi, (xi) Tamil, (xii) Telugu and (xiii) Urdu.
• There will negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

Candidates have to clear race within the following time limits:

Medical Examination/Document Verification

Candidates will be shortlisted for Detailed medical examination (DME) / document verification from the pool of candidates who qualify the PST/ PET.

The candidates, who are qualified in the PST/ PET and Medical Examination/ DV will be considered for inclusion in the final merit list.

Syllabus for the Computer-Based Examination

The indicative syllabus for the Examination will be as follows:

• General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, etc.
• General Knowledge and General Awareness: Questions in this component will test the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect, as any educated person may expect. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries, especially about sports, history, culture, geography, economic scene, general politeness, the Indian Constitution, scientific research, etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
• Elementary Mathematics: This Section will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and the relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.
• English/ Hindi: Candidates’ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi and their basic comprehension will be tested.

How to Apply for SSC GD Constable 2025 Recruitment:

• First Visit the Home Portal of the SSC official Website (https://ssc.gov.in/)
• Click on Login or Register Button on the Home Page.
• Click on Register now and fill in the ‘ One-Time Registration’ form. Click ‘Continue’ to proceed and reach the personal details screen.
• Fill out the required details on the Application Form including Aadhar Number, name, Father’s name, and date of birth.
• After the successful verification of Mobile and email OTP. Click on the’ Save and Next’ button. The candidate will redirected to the registration details page showing the Registration Number.
• Login with The SSC registration number and One time Password.
• Then you will redirected to the Password Creation Page. Please create a password that complies with all the requirements.
• Login with The SSC registration number and Newly created Password.
• Enter all the Additional required Details.
• After carefully reading the declaration, users should check “Preview OTR” and ‘I agree’, then click on ‘Declare’ to submit the declaration. Upon successful submission, users will be redirected to the dashboard.
• Click on the ‘Apply’ link in the ‘Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau Examination-2025’ Section under the ‘Latest Notifications’ Tab
• The candidates will be required to fill out the examination center choice and the state preference in the application form.
• Upload the recent photograph and signature.
• Submit the SSC Constable GD Application fee and check the declaration.
• Submit the SSC Constable GD application form and take the final printout.
